Cumberland Home Inspection built its reputation on a rigorous, proprietary inspection methodology, refined over thousands of jobs and years of inspector judgment in the field. None of it was protected, and none of it showed up in the company’s valuation.

With its core IP defined and protected, Cumberland’s market identity evolved alongside it, repositioning from a regional home inspection company to an IP-backed, technology-driven platform.

The Outcome
Protected IP became the foundation for a multi-AI engine
Using the newly protected IP as its foundation, Cumberland’s engineering team built specialized models working in tandem on image analysis, defect classification, and report generation—cutting inspection time in half. The resulting technology and software product is being deployed under the company’s new brand in late 2026.
